Popular questions
How many screed tripods do I need?
As a rule of thumb, allow one screed tripod for roughly every 1.5 metres across the floor in each direction. A small room or patch repair may only need a handful, while a full house floor usually needs a 30, 50 or 100 pack. Our step-by-step screed tripod guide explains how to set them out.
What height should an outdoor handrail be?
Most step handrails sit between 900mm and 1,000mm above the pitch line of the steps. Our adjustable handrails are designed to sit at a comfortable height once fitted. See UK handrail regulations for more detail.
Can I fit a handrail myself?
Yes. Our handrails come ready to fit, with concrete-in, bolt-down and wall-mounted options. If you can drill into masonry or dig and set a post in concrete, you can fit one. Start with the handrail measuring guide so you order the right size.
Which campervan sink size is right for my van?
Measure the worktop space you have, then choose a bowl that leaves room for a tap and a little worktop either side. Our campervan sink guide compares sizes, waste pipes and built-in waste tanks.
What is the best way to stop a shed or patio door being forced?
A solid steel security bar fitted across the door spreads the force of an attack across the whole frame, so it is far harder to break in than with a lock alone. Read 5 ways to make your shed more secure and our patio and French door security guide.
